about

i wrote this song after speaking with one of my best friends about their struggle to be happy in their skin, with the struggle to know what gender to be, who and how to identify and i came to the conclusion , be whoever you want to be

so i wrote this song for them

lyrics

i've seen too much
that i've lost my sight
you're here for me
for you i lay down my mind
my skin's grown weary
and my heart is hard
i no longer see
it's much harder than the start

this is me
this is me
i wear my heart on my sleeve
this is me
i tell ya this is me

many friends have come
and many friends have gone
some chase the air they dream of
some have stayed right where they are
people come and go
and they loose their fight
they're drowning in the comfort
they miss the stars at night

this is me
this is me
i long to see
this is me
i tell ya this is me

the worlds in a mess now
have you seen the way we live?
i know where we're going
each day i tale it on the chin

people in glass made houses
they shouldn't throw their stones
some are hurt and bleed now
we don't know where we belong

this is me
this is me
it's you and me
then everything in between
this is me
i can be whoever i please
yeah we'll be whoever we please
i can be whoever
